Spades is a plain-trick game in which spades are trumps. It is most often played as a partnership game by four players, but there are also versions for three, two or six players.
There are many variations of the game of Spades. The one which is the focus of this blog is known as Suicide. One person on each team must bid nil.
There are a variety of sites where one can play Spades on the internet. I play at Yahoo, which has four lounges dedicated to Suicide. Beginners are recommended to start in Suicide Lounge 4 as you are more likely to get a game there than in Suicide Lounge (1).
I do not claim to be the best or the most knowledgeable but I really love playing this sometimes brutal game. I’ve gotten good enough that I win more often than not (longest winning streak, 37 games), and I’m always looking to improve my play.
I hope that you find useful information here that helps you, and if you have a helpful suggestion or tip with respect to the game, please be sure to leave it in comments.
Any and all of the pages and posts are subject to updating at any time as additional information becomes available, or I think of something or reconsider something. It seems like a lot easier way to do it than create a new post for every random thought. This way, hopefully, like things will all be in their own easy to find spot.
